Isa's Story...
My name is Isa and I had a very rough beginning. My prior family was not very nice to me - I was tied up and barely fed or taken care of. Finally they gave me up and I made it to AGK. I have a horrible skin infection, so bad that I am missing some of my fur BUT I am taking medicine for that and I am feeling much better. I am just about 2 years old and I love humans, other dogs and even cats. I roll over on my back for belly rubs too. I would prefer a quiet home with another a dog where I can be spoiled like all the other AGK dogs are.

If interested in Isa, please visit our website http://www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org/new_england.html. If all that looks good, please move forward and fill out an application.

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transport

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Isa, a Syracuse Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Syracuse, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Syracuse.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Syracuse already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Syracuse breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Syracuse paves the way for another one to be saved.
