My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET CINNAMON -

‘One potato, two potato, three potato, four…open up Cinnamon, I want more.’ Those familiar with popular music from the 1960’s will surely remember the song, Cinnamon, by Derek (aka Johnny Cymbal). From the moment we met this little 6.5 year old, 12.4 lb Cinnamon colored doxie who had been listed for free on the internet, this song has been running through my head. Our CINNAMON acts like a puppy she is so happy. She licks, fetches and lets you know when she needs to go outside, but she doesn't jump on furniture and is learning to use the doggy door. At ODR, Inc., we all feel that you will be wanting to ‘knock down our door’ to see her (and probably take her home) even ‘if it takes all day.’ Plus, if you’re handy in the kitchen, you know that everything is better with Cinnamon. So tell us, are you the loving forever family who will cherish this precious doxie, who will definitely make YOUR life better?

NOTE FROM ODR, INC. :
CINNAMON is a sweet 6.5 year old Dachshund who was given to ODR, Inc. volunteers because the small children and family cats were unkind to her. Sadly, even before this, she wasn’t treasured as we hope that all doxies will be. She requires significant dental work, which is being done. CINNAMON’s ideal forever home, will have NO cats and possibly older children, though a family where CINNAMON can be your only child would probably be best.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give CINNAMON a happy, carefree life that she deserves? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
