Troy - Katrina's Story...
Troy is an adorable Lab/Hound mix born in March 2014. He has a lovely reddish tan coat, soft floppy ears and a face that is sure to win you over!

Troy was not thriving after the illness that plagued his litter despite the excellent care of the shelter staff, so he went into a foster home. Two weeks in a home environment makes a world of difference! Troy is a very playful little guy. He may be too much for a senior dog companion but he would help tire out a younger energetic playmate! He loves to snuggle and enjoys a soft place to nap. He's good with kids and other dogs. He is working on potty training. If Troy sounds like a good match for you, please ask about him today!

****His adoption fee is $325.****

The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws.

Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Troy - Katrina, a Kalamazoo Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Kalamazoo, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Kalamazoo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Kalamazoo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Kalamazoo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Kalamazoo paves the way for another one to be saved.
