Gabe's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, and up to date with shots.

Gabe's Story...
Gabe is a 2 year old neutered male Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix. His markings are stunning! He is a high energy dog and would do best in either a highly active home or be trained to be a working dog. With his breed mix he should have herding instincts and might do great on a farm with the proper training. We do not know much about his past so if you have another dog or kids we would highly recommend a meet and greet before adopting.

$150 Adoption Fee for all Dogs and Puppies. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, a heartworm/lymes test (for adults), microchip, and all age appropriate vaccinations. (Puppies are too young for the test but will be started on preventative.)

SHELTER HOURS: 1:00pm – 6:00pm Tuesday - Thursday; 12:00pm – 4:00pm Friday and Saturday; 1pm-4pm Sunday; Closed Monday. We welcome adoptions from people living out of the area or outside the state of Virginia. The application process is completed in person at the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gabe, a Staunton Blue Heeler/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Blue Heeler/Border Collie for sale in Staunton, or seeking a Blue Heeler/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Staunton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Staunton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Staunton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Blue Heeler/Border Collie breeders who help with Blue Heeler/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Staunton paves the way for another one to be saved.
