~ABOUT ME~
Augustus the Italian Greyhound came to P.O.E.T. from an animal shelter where he was an owner surrender.
Italian Greyhounds are a phenomenal breed. They are intensely loyal and loving dogs that are very laid back and make excellent lap dogs. Augustus is incredibly well socialized and loves every person and dog that he comes in contact with, he is actually afraid of cats so as long as your cat isn't a bully he will be fine.
However italian Greyhounds can have quirks and needs over their course of their life which makes them only for experienced (and well-financed) pet owners. It is because of that, we strongly recommend that Augustus live with someone that has experience with Italian Greyhounds or other sight hounds.
Augustus has one cloudy eye (due to cataracts) but his other eye has no sign of any cataract forming. He doesn't need a dental yet, but will within the next 6 months or so. This breed may need to have dental cleanings done every 12-18 months. He also has mild food allergies and needs to be on grain free dog food.
