Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Patty’s life is turning around – and quickly! Her story is complicated, and only went from bad to worse. Five year old Patty once had a happy life. She lived with a senior citizen in an apartment nearby. So far, so good, right? Then, back in the cold month of March, Patty’s owner died. Patty was not wanted by the rest of the family. They put her outside, and there she stayed next to the trash bins, waiting for some dry food that the granddaughter would throw out for her. And so, this was Patty’s life. The adult granddaughter already had a cat, and when asked why she wouldn’t take in little Patty she said “I’m too busy to have a cat, and besides, I want a puppy”. Ok, you get the idea. The granddaughter happily turned the cat over to the shelter when encouraged to do so. Patty now has a second chance. She is a beautiful Calico, and has the cutest short legs. She has remained incredibly super-nice and sugary sweet, and seems to be happy to have the comfort and security of a cat bed and regular food. She came to us with lots of mats, and clearly had been neglected. However, trooper that she is, she happily let one of the volunteers groom her, and her fur is now beautiful once again. Patty is gentle, and has an extremely good temperament. She can easily be picked up. She would be great around kids – which is something we don’t get to say much of the time. Got cats? No problem – Patty loves all living creatures!
