Charlie's Story...
Well, hello there! I’m Charlie, a playful little 1 year old Beagle/Collie mix. I’ve been living in a shelter in Kentucky for 2 months until Chicagoland Dog Rescue took me into their program. Now I’m staying in a foster home while I wait for my forever home. I am about 30 lbs., am crate trained and housebroken and I sleep through the night. I like going on walks and love playing in the yard with my dog friends. It’s not easy to wear me out, but once that happens, I climb into my human’s lap for some petting and a snooze, and then go into my crate for a long nap. I love human affection and interaction; it’s been a long time since I’ve had any, so I try to get as much as I can. I met a cat for the first time today! I’m not really sure what it is, but I think I like it. I would be a good addition to a home with or without other dogs and cats and would make a great friend for those little humans who seem to have as much energy as I do. I’d love to meet you at our next adoption event, please come by to say hi!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlie, a Schaumburg Collie/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Beagle for sale in Schaumburg, or seeking a Collie/Beagle dog from a breeder in Schaumburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Schaumburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Schaumburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Beagle breeders who help with Collie/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Schaumburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
