My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WILLIS is a 1-year old Dachshund/Pug mix, and weighs 16 lbs. He is housebroken, crate trained and is a very sweet and friendly dog. Willis is always wagging his tail and even wiggles his back end when I say "wiggle butt, wiggle butt"! He's such a happy fellow and loves all his doggie and kittie friends here at his foster home. His special friend is my Dachshund Reggie - they are the same size and play together a lot - such as running around my car in the garage trying to catch each other., or chasing each other in the house... each of them having doxie genes have this special trait of trying to whack the other one with a twist of their rear end or thigh - it's funny to watch them! Willis often tries to instigate play with the others, going from dog to dog, and even to one of the cats! ... looking for some fun, and usually gets a taker! But towards evening, most of the dogs and cats (except Willis) are tired and snoozing throughout the house - yet Willis goes from dog bed to dog bed, searching for some late night action. But alas, no luck, so he finally gives up and plops down in an available spot, dreaming of tomorrows of fun and games!

Willis is very active, yet gentle, and always comes when called. But needs a safe and secure back yard, if fenced, it must not have any areas that he can slip through either underneath the fence or gate, or in between any spaces within the fence, or he will squeeze through and be off and wandering - and possible get lost again, or worse. Willis is so sweet, and when he gets to me, he flops over to get a belly rub. He likes chewing on Nylabones, playing with any type of toy and has very good indoor manners and doesn't chew anything he's not supposed to. The only thing he likes to do that is a little naughty is inspect what's in a waste basket, just taking inventory I guess. Willis is very friendly to the house kitties too. He's a brave little boy and during all the thunderstorms and rain we've had, he does not mind going outside to "go" even if it is raining, and he was one of the few brave souls here during the crashing thunder and lightning storms - while big 50# Coonhound is hiding in the closet, brave little Willis couldn't be happier, and is watching TV and chilling out with his toys on the big doggie bed in front of the TV! Willis would love to have a forever home with another dog to play with! He's a cuddler too with his people!

Willis is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and comes with a certificate for free micro-chipping and registration. Willis' adoption fee is $200 (cash or check).
