Rex's Story...
Meet Rex - a 1-2 yr old yellow male. His former owners just could not afford to take care of him any longer. He was found hanging out at the local High School. Going up anyone and everyone he could find. He was so happy and playful that people assumed he lived nearby. He was well groomed and smelled freshly bathed, even had on a nice red leather collar. He was neutered, knew basic commands and was very sweet. After a week of seeing him hanging around the school, a nice woman took him home and fed him and gave him a warm place to sleep until she could find his owners. After a few weeks of trying to find his owners she had no choice but to take him to the local shelter. She told the shelter that "Rex"; (which is not his real name, the shelter gave him that name) was the sweetest dog. He was house trained, walked well on leash, would not jump on furniture and just loved attention. He is about 1.5 but not quite 2 years old and is fully up to date on his shots. Rex is neutered and Micro-Chipped just eagerly awaiting his foster and or forever family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rex, a Oak Brook Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Oak Brook, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Oak Brook.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Brook already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Brook breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Brook paves the way for another one to be saved.
