Pumpkin's Story...
Pumpkin is a pretty 3 year old Tabby with golden highlights. She has an orange spot on the top of her head. Pumpkin was originally part of a colony in Dumont that Chance at Life had taken care of with spaying/neutering. A new neighbor moved in and decided he wasn't happy with the cats being in his yard and started trapping them and sending them to the county to be euthanized. We have been trying to relocate and/or adopt out as many as possible.
Since Pumpkin is so sweet, she is a good candidate for adoption. She can be shy and spook easily but loves a good scratching. She will roll over and give you her belly. With a little bit of patience and time, Pumpkin will surely be a mush.

Up to date with vaccinations, spayed and FIV/FeLV negative.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pumpkin, a River Edge Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in River Edge, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in River Edge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in River Edge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a River Edge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in River Edge paves the way for another one to be saved.
