My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Cassie, at only 12 weeks old and about 12 lbs (is estimated to be full grown at about 40 - 50 lbs), was facing the end of her life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this puppy...they rescued Cassie just in time. This sweet and engaging Doodle (thought initially to be a Labradoodle but is looking much more like a Goldendoodle at this point) is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of her temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new life. She's also incredibly beautiful...with the gorgeous streaks of gold and fawn that have come out since she received a good, sudsy bath after her release from the shelter. We'll post a photo of the clean and gorgeous Cassie just as soon as we get one. Cassie is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. She's so smart...very typical of the cross of a Golden (or Lab) and a Poodle. The one thing that's clear is that she's an amazing Doodle. She's bright and so loving...clearly having no memory of her scary start. Since Cassie is just a baby, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome family companion - she would form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs & humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Socialization Class followed by group Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior. We're open to Cassie finding her forever home with a very active retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Cassie is great with children as well but we would prefer to place her in a home with older kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent training regiment.
Cassie will be up to date on her vetting. We're hoping that she will be spayed when she arrives from Texas, however a very young puppy like Cassie is often deemed too young to spay. If this is the case, Farfel's will cover all costs for Cassie to be fixed in Denver to be in line with our commitment to be a part of the solution to pet overpopulation.
Cassie is a stunning combination of a shedding and a non-shedding breed... she doesn't appear to shed at this point but due to her young age, we don't feel we can guarantee her suitability for an individual with severe allergy challenges.
Cassie will be arriving on transport in Denver on 7/4. We are currently accepting applications for this sweet and super-loving puppy
