My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bella is an easy-going, lovable young girl. She is very friendly with people of all ages including children and is good with other pets, including cats. She is an affectionate dog, and would make an excellent all around family pet. Bella is approximately 2 - 3 years old and currently weighs 60 lbs.

Here is what her foster family had to say:

Bella is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves her people. She is very happy to see you when you return from a day of work and always wants to be near the family and involved in what everyone is doing. She has been great with our children who are 12, 10 and 2 1/2 years old. She is very patient and tolerant with the young child and although I believe he has tried her patience on more than one occasion, Bella never reacts negatively. Bella has also been good meeting strangers and does best if you just allow her to come to you.

Bella has been great with our cats but they do like to play so cats in the home should be dog savvy, as she may try to get them to play as well. She is pretty respectful with them and a hiss or a swat and she will back off. She can be a little dominant with other dogs so another dog in the home would need to be submissive and friendly.

Bella has a good understanding of basic commands and is well mannered in the home. She can be fully trusted to be left on her own with no issues and for this reason we have not used a crate with her and instead just leave her with full run of the house. She is generally quiet in the home and will only bark when someone knocks at the door. She knows all of her basic commands such as sit, come, down, etc. and when you go get her leash she will sit automatically in anticipation until you put on her leash. She is food and affection motivated which makes her easy to work with. She is fully house trained and knows to do her business outside and is very good about signalling you to let her out. She loves going for car rides and is a great passenger.

Although Bella loves being with her family she is not an overly demanding dog. She can easily amuse herself whether that is playing with her toys, romping in the backyard or just relaxing and watching the birds. She does love to be where we are and likes to sleep in our room at night.

I believe that Bella would fit fairly easily into just about any situation. She is a moderately active dog and would appreciate a good walk each day and a backyard to play in. She would be great as part of an active family or as a couple's companion. She would enjoy hiking and rollerblading or playing with children tossing a ball around in the backyard. She really is an easy to care for, great family companion.

If you think Bella would be a good fit for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
