Meet Angelo, a sassy little chocolate dapple long hair. He's ~10 yrs old, weighs 10.8 lbs, is sweet as pie (once he gets to know you), & is a great snuggle bunny. We did give him a buzz cut as his coat was just way too thick. He feels much cooler now and don't worry - it will grow back. He can be quite a handful when he wants to be as he's very hard headed & will need proper guidance from his new family. He's takes to instruction very well, as proven in class. This is what Angelo has to say for himself.....
"I am a loyal companion...adorable, warm, soft & fluffy, just like your childhood teddy bear. And I have the most tender brown eyes that I promise to blink at you with adoration...for whatever treat you might be willing to offer me. Tee hee. I love long quiet times together - just cuddling or reading books with you, sometimes napping together or watching TV. Guess what? Your favorite shows are my favorites too. Won't it be so heartwarming to come home to me after being out in today's hectic world? I am educated; I've been to obedience school, and did very well. The top of my class (of one). I am neutered, housetrained, good with one other dog at the most, but not good with young children or cats.
P.S. My foster dad Bud helped me write this. But I told him it was OK. He did such a good job that I think I will let him get me another treat now."
If you are interested in adopting Angelo, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to
dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Angelo 's adoption fee is $350. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Angelo will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.
DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
