My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Macy is one sweet girl. She is a 3 yr old Westie who came into rescue with her sister Lacy. These two girls have a genetic condition that causes their skin to produce skin cells at an accelerated rate which makes them have a sticky almost tar-like feeling to parts of their fur. They have been to a dermatologist who has prescribed regular baths in medicated shampoo and a vitamin A capsule once per day which acts to slow down the skin cell production. There is no cure for this condition, and at best it can be managed through this treatment. Despite this condition, these girls are the happiest babies you will ever meet. When they first came into rescue, they had never been on grass or shown affection by humans, as they were kept in cages and isolated from humans. It took a little while to teach these girls that grass is good to run in, and what "play" is. They now love to run in the grass and play all day long. They are great with other dogs and love people. These two babies love each other, but would not necessarily have to go to the same home as they are not so bonded that they wouldn't be happy living apart.
