Bandit's Story...
I was just trying to find my way home…

The handsome gray and white cat now called Bandit was brought to the Coronado Animal Care Facility as a stray by a family who said he kept using their cat door to come in and help himself to the bowls of cat food – hence the name Bandit.

It turned out that Bandit is microchipped and a little detective work uncovered that he had been rescued during the fires in North County, but no one came to claim him, He was adopted by a Coronado family who said he disappeared in April. We figure Bandit has been wandering around Coronado trying to figure out how to get back home.

Since the day he arrived, even while in a quarantine cage, Bandit has been a charming and loving boy. His handsome good looks are complimented by his winning personality.

Bandit is loving to everyone he meets, has a quiet confidence, but is not an alpha male. He gets on with the other cats in the cat community room and takes an easy approach with all of them.

This boy is truly a well rounded cat who will add much joy and love to whoever adds him to their family. Are you looking for an awesome cat to adopt? Come meet Bandit – we are sure you will see he is the purrfect cat for you!

You can meet Bandit at the Coronado Animal Care Facility any day between 9:00am and 4:00pm (except holidays). The Coronado Animal Care Facility is located at 1395 First Street at the south end of the Ferry Landing complex.

If you are interested in adopting Bandit, you must first complete a Cat Adoption Application and meet with a PAWS of Coronado Cat Adoption Counselor. Cat adoption applications are available at the facility or Cat Adoption Applications may be completed online.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bandit, a Coronado Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Coronado, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Coronado.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Coronado already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Coronado breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Coronado paves the way for another one to be saved.
