My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Foxy" is a 1-yo (not much older than 1 yr) spayed female GSD/Husky mix who is very sweet and playful. Foxy is friendly with strangers, though somewhat timid at first. She was quite timid when I rescued her, and it took a couple of months for me to gain her trust. Now, she lets me pet her all over and even play a little rough with her. She needs an adopter who is not seeking a dog who will immediately love on him/her, and who is willing to put in a little extra effort to help build Foxy's confidence. I have not had Foxy around children, but I'm sure she'll be fine with them.

Foxy is great with other dogs, and loves to play hard. I really want to see Foxy go to a home w/ another young, playful dog near her size so that she does not have suffer the shock of going from a home in which she has a constant playmate (Delilah, the Pit Bull/GSD mix who is also posted on this page) to none at all. I do not know how Foxy is with cats, but I doubt that she'd be good with them. Therefore, I will only consider a home without cats for Foxy. Foxy weighs about 53 lbs, and of course is still growing. She has a high metabolism and eats a lot of food--I feed her 6 cups of high-quality kibble and 7 oz of canned food each day.

Foxy is housetrained and mostly non-destructive in the house. Occasionally, she'll team up w/ Delilah (the Pit Bull/GSD pup) and find an old comforter in one of the dog crates to shred, but that's about the extent of her mischievousness. Foxy loves to run and would likely be a good jogging partner. I haven't had her on leash much, so I can't comment about her on-leash behavior. She has good recall off-leash, and is not a fence-jumper or a run-away.

GSRSV rescued Foxy from the Glenn County shelter on March 1. Her adoption fee is $225.
