My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm Summer, a very sweet, friendly 4 to 5 year old, chocolate n white cocker girl. I am a real sweetheart despite the fact that I have had a very hard life as my needs were very neglected. A shelter in NC contacted this rescue because another cocker girl, (my BFF Lyla) and I were brought in by a local person who stated that we had both been thrown out of a moving car. We were horribly matted and very, very dirty. At some point in my past, I must have been loved, because I am such a sweet girl. On my visit to the rescue vet, he saw that I had a big open wound on my head. They think it looked like someone had poured something on top of my head that burned it, so my ugly open sore got treated and Lyla, the other cocker had one on her ear which was also taken care of.

I came to rescue as heartworm positive and needed treatment to get me well. I recently had
my treatment done and I am doing well with my recovery so far. I will be ready to go to a loving home in about a month. On my initial vet visit I was treated for my head wound, my shots were updated, I had a dental and I was spayed. I am a friendly, smart, very sweet girl. I will need a patient groomer to work with me as I am not too fond of being groomed. I am people friendly and dog social and I will do best in a home with older kids. I am a nice cocker girl and to make things easier for me, I live with a great foster family and their 3 cockers until I can be adopted. I seem to be house trained too. I will be a great best friend and wonderful companion to add to your family, so please consider adopting me. I'd love to be your sweet baby girl and a nice house doggie for you to spend quality time with, love, and enjoy a great life with. Come see me....... I bet you I can win your heart!

If you are interested in adopting this very sweet cocker girl, please send an email message to:
