Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Sissy" rat terrier mix
6 yr spayed female
this is a sad, sad story. Owner terminally ill and unable to go home again leaving Sissy alone and at the shelter. This 6 yr old rat terrier mix had never been with any other person and she and her owner were inseparable for many years. They took walks together, they ate together, they sat on the couch together watching TV. She has been having a very hard time acclimating to life alone but slowly, she has come out of her shell. She now acts like a normal dog once she knows her people. It still takes awhile for her to realize that new people are A-OK. She is fine with her foster mom & dad and runs around like she owns the house. She has started going places and sometimes still growls and barks if she is insecure and she just needs reassurance. She is great with other dogs but barks at cats and is extremely interested in them. She was housebroken to puppy pads but has learned to go outside to potty now. She does well on a leash and loves to go for walks. Gets quite frisky when she sees the leash since she knows that that means. Sissy would be good with an older person who has a slow life style.
