My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BJ is a 4 y/o male who was found on the streets in NW Houston. This lucky boy was found by a family who brought him to Houston Beagle Rescue for care. BJ has epilepsy. He was probably abandoned when he first started having seizures. It has taken a few months to make sure his medication dosage was just right, but he is stable now and has not had a seizure in over a month. At 15 inches, he has a slender 26 pound frame.

BJ is a perfect pack member. He hunts for critters, plays chase with the fastest of the pack and loves to wrestle with the girls. He is a handsome boy who plays hard and then takes a good nap. His house manners are great. He is housebroken and has never gotten into anything. His biggest failing is his love of sneaking under the covers at night. I have no idea how he gets enough oxygen to keep his brain alive! BJ is crate trained and will stay kenneled without fuss. He usually has the run of the house, but does spend time outs in a kennel. BJ can be vocal on his hunts. His foster home has plenty of moles burrowing under the yard. BJ will dig up the trails while letting everyone know he has one sniffed out. He does remember the rules after a brief time out or an hour wearing a bark collar, but the next day brings new varmints to catch!

Why would anyone want to adopt this boy? He digs, he bays, and he sneaks under your covers while you sleep. But then, he will climb into your lap and look at you with those huge brown eyes and tell you that you are the best person he has ever met. One small kiss on the nose and all is forgiven! BJ can be the most sweet, loving little guy when he is finished with his job of protecting your yard. He will do best with an active family who will give him lots of exercise and a canine companion to share his days with. Hopefully, you will not have a mole problem t tempt him!
