Trixie's Story...
Hi, I'm Trixie! I am a young Irish Setter and I am looking for my FORever home. If you have not had an Irish Setter before, I suggest you read up on us - http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/irishsetter.htm - we are a wonderful breed, but we have certain needs. For example, I am a high energy girl, which is very typical of my breed. If you are not an active person or family - I will NOT be the right pup for you. However, if you love to go walking, running, and play outside with me - I am YOUR girl! I love other dogs and really hope I get to have another play friend at my new home. I haven't been around those things called cats yet... I am crate-trained and housetrained. I would really love a home with a fenced yard because I love to run and play. I am spayed, current on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordatella, microchipped and current on heartworm/flea prevention. I am being fostered in North Alabama and you can fill out an application online here: http://forrescue.net/dog-application/
I really look forward to meeting you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trixie, a Knoxville Irish Setter dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Irish Setter for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Irish Setter dog from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Irish Setter breeders who help with Irish Setter rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
