My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

http://www.valleydogs.org/cp_pippin.html -- Pippin Pickles was found abandoned in a box when she was just 3 weeks old. She was malnourished and very sick. I took her to the vet and she was given a small chance to live. She was put on meds and I bottle fed her and cared for her round the clock. She had a fight in her to stay alive, and she will now be 3 years old in December. She pulled though, but not without some complications.

She was diagnosed as having some brain injury (Either by being sick at such a young age or possible by trauma from whomever left her in the box). But she has some temperament issues that can be difficult for some, and she isn't the best fit for all. But she is a wonderful, loving, eager to please, sweet dog for a patient person. Pippin does not like other dogs or cats. She also barks and growls at strangers (adults and children alike); but if you are patient enough with her, she will warm up to you and be the most loyal and loving dog anyone could ask for. She absolutely hates being kenneled; and prefers to be put in a room/area and baby-gated so she can run around. She is toy/food aggressive. She has never bitten me or my daughter, but has nipped at my mother when she tried taking her toy away. I can even take toys out of her mouth and she is okay- just will not be okay with strangers, or people she deems 'below' her in rank.

She gets along wonderfully with me and my 10 year old daughter; and loves to spend her time at night going between my bed and my daughters to snuggle up to us. She will curl up next to you on the couch and be the happiest pup in the world. I know that given the right fit/person, she can make someone VERY happy for a long time to come. She will come with a wide variety of toys, a bed, blanket, leash, harness, any food I have, puppy pads, various items.

This pup is a courtesy post with Valley Dogs Rescue. Please contact JAYMEY313@aol.com if you are interested in meeting this sweet dog.
