My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

URGENT! Roxy needs a new home fast! The young couple who own this dog actually do not want to just give up their dog, but the situation with their newborn is so dire that the child must live in a pet-free environment.

SEE VIDEO ALSO ON THIS PAGE!

Roxy is a funny and playful Miniature Pinscher/Beagle mix weighing 21 lbs. She is a perfect size and currently lives in an apartment! She is spayed, dewormed, vaccinated and micro- chipped.

Roxy is so affectionate and sweet. She will sleep on your lap and give kisses and will follow you around the house and lay loyally next to you. She is playful and enjoys toys and entertains herself with them. She loves to play with kids too and has no signs of aggression with them. She is very tolerant of kids playing with her toys, grabbing her, and going near her food. Roxy is great with other dogs. She loves to play with other dogs and is very curious and happy to be around them. She has been known to get shy if there is a large group of dogs, taking on a more submissive role to the pack.

Roxy is energetic and loves to take walks and be outside. Unfortunately her current living arrangements do not allow her to be outside as she has been raised in a small apartment. Roxy needs a yard and daily walks, preferably a home with another dog would be great too. Roxy is a puppy and could benefit from more structured training and more practice walking on the leash. She knows and responds to one command word “out” which is used in all situations in which you want her to stop what she is doing.

Roxy is great with cats and wants to play! She has lived with one cat since she was two months old. She always wants to play and is very interested in getting the cat’s attention. She has never been aggressive with the cat and does not seem to be phased when the cat gets annoyed.

Roxy is a barker for alerting purposes, however, is otherwise quiet. She is used to being alone for long periods of time; however, when you leave the house she will bark for a few minutes but will then stop. Roxy is pad trained but knows to use grass as well.
