Here's what the humans have to say about me:
April 2016 update: Butterfly's soulful eyes and beautiful personality will melt your heart! This sweetheart can't catch a break. She has come back to us and needs a new home. Butterfly is such a gentle soul! She is about 4 years old and is a hound dog through and through. Butterfly is great with people of all ages and also gets along with cats and most other dogs, unless they are puppies that are in her face and not respectful of her space. She would make a wonderful companion as an "only" and we feel she would be a perfect therapy dog or emotional support dog. She has great manners and is always ready to be close by your side for daily walks, and wants nothing more than your attention.
She is very affectionate and will bat her paw for attention. Butterfly will sit on command and shake hands. Butterfly came to us from a southern partner shelter and no one knew until she arrived that she had no feeling in her hind end. She has a subluxed vertebra, an injury that can happen when a dog's tail is pulled very hard. She wears diapers when she is indoors and has a waterproof pad on her dog bed so she can hang out with the family. In the big scheme of things, this is not too difficult deal with and Butterfly is so worth the bit of extra effort. She worked with a doggy chiropractor and has had reiki as well as a trial of incontinence medicine - she has made some good progress with the reiki and chiropractic care and she definitely "goes" on purpose but there is still some incontinence and likely always will be. After her first round of chiropractic care she made so much progress that she started jumping fences! A 4-foot fence won't contain her.
She is SUCH a good girl! Her best friends are children, but she loves absolutely everybody. Butterfly loves the beach, exploring, riding in the car, and really, there isn't any adventure she hasn't loved. We love taking her to events with us because she is the easiest dog - but what she really wants is one family to love her forever! She is gentle with such a sweet soul and everyone who meets her falls head over heels for Madame Butterfly. She is also one of the most photogenic dogs ever - we LOVE taking pictures of this girl, as you can see. It's impossible to pick out the best ones - Butterfly was recently the "cover model" for Fido magazine!
We know Butterfly is more to take on than some, but she is 100% worth it! She couldn't be more of a love!
