My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JETTA is a 4 year old black spayed female who weighs 92 pounds (but her ideal wight is 75 lbs ~ on exercise and green bean diet to lose weight ). She's your friend as soon as she meets you. She is an easy dog who loves attention and misses being with a family. She gave me a lot of kisses and nudges with his nose when I stopped petting her. She knows commands Sit (show fist), lay down (point down), wait/stay (palm up). Stand up (hand high). Jetta is a country dog and won't do well in a city, apartment or condo as she is used to having a yard to play in. She is approved for kids aged 3+ ~ she formerly lived with a 1 year old but might bump over smaller children when playing as she is not graceful.

Update (8/18): Jetta says no one has been to see her and she is starting to get a complex she thinks it may be because she is a Bi-Stater (i.e. spends the week at the beach in VA and the weekends in MD). if the problem is where she is just call the foster and she will tell you her whereabouts so you can meet her!

Update (7/14): Jetta is so sweet and has settled very nicely with her foster. Gets along great with the two resident labs and plays with our younger one very nicely. She loves to be petted, but not a pest about it. She loves to go for walks and is very good on lead. The other day she met a rabbit on one of our walks and was very interested but didn't try and chase it. Jetta has had the run of the house hasn't been crated since she got there. Has good manners, doesn't beg or counter surf. One of the easiest fosters we have had. Jetta is used to being with a family and would like a forever family to come get her and take her home.

NOTE: Hypothyroidism which is easily controlled with relatively low cost medicine. It is a clinical condition resulting from a lowered production and release of T4 and T3 hormones by the thyroid gland. It is also more commonly diagnosed in middle-aged dogs between the ages of 4-10 years. The treatment is medication is replacement of deficient hormones which are given in synthetic form, with the dosage adjusted occasionally based on your dog's individual physical condition and progress. Most clinical symptoms will resolve after a few months with routine blood tests.
