My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please meet Jeeves! He is beautiful 3 year old English bulldog. Jeeves came to BBR as an owner surrender. He has a history of recurring cysteine bladder stones, and had to have surgery to have his urethra re-routed to allow for more room for stones to pass. Without this surgery, stones could have gotten lodged, and this could have been life-threatening. Jeeves was also neutered at the same time, which can help reduce the development of these stones. Due to this condition, Jeeves will be REQUIRED to be on prescription dog food for his entire life.

Jeeves is a very well-mannered young man. He does amazing on a leash, but short walks are needed. Jeeves rarely jumps, but can be a little bit strong and over-powering when playing. Because of this, it would be best for him to go to a home with children at least 8 years old. Jeeves knows basic sit, come, and responds well to "No Jeeves" & redirection. Because of his kidney issues, it would be best for him to go to a home where someone can let him out frequently for potty breaks. Jeeves is not a fan of the sweeper or vacuum, but his foster parents are working on that with him. He can be gated in another room while running the vacuum.

In additional to his urethra re-routing surgery, Jeeves required entropian surgery on his eyes. Because of this, he will need daily eye medicine for the rest of his life due to a condition called “dry eye”.
Jeeves is neutered, up to date on shots, and mostly houstrained (he still needs a little work, since he was going frequently due to his medical condition). Please consider opening your heart and giving Jeeves his forever home!
