My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Tootsie and I am a beautiful 25 year old blue front amazon. I came to Florida Parrot Rescue because one of my long time owners recently passed away and the other had to be hospitalized. I will miss them very much, but I need a new home - after all, I am only middle aged myself and have a lot of time and love to show another family! I am very talkative and like to say Hello”, “Whatcha Wanna Do?”, “Pretty Bird”, “How are you?”, “Ira” (my previous owner), “Whatcha Doin?”” and a lot of other chatter and whistling. I do prefer women, but women are really all I have been around, so maybe you should come and meet me just to be sure! I am a little nervous about stepping up for my foster Mom right now, but I am stick trained and I will keep working on that part. My favorite toys include bells – I love to ring them! My foster Mom has been working on my diet by introducing pellets, lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, and some healthy nuts. I am a little suspicious of these things though because all I have ever eaten is seeds – so we will see how it goes. I am currently on medical hold due to a respiratory infection, malnutrition, vitamin deficiencies, and to help with my liver (seed diets are not what we parrots are supposed to get and I have several elevated liver values – the vet feels this should be corrected with time and the proper diet though). I really do have a very sweet disposition, so once I am cleared by the vet for adoption, please
