My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION PENDING Sampson is a handsome, young, male Rottie who has a charming personality! We lovingly refer to him as Goober! Sampson is house trained but prefers not to be crated. Sampson has been fine with other dogs including small dogs and puppies, quite sweet with cats, and he even has a pig for a friend! He participates on pack walks and was exposed to all shapes and sizes of dogs and did quite well. He seems most interested in playing with and attention from his person.

This big boy (all 105 pounds of him) loves to play but also loves long snoozes. He is good on leash and will not pull. Sampson will get grumbly if he sees you carrying food to eat but we think it's just his way of letting you know that he would love to share whatever you have. We can put his food bowl on the floor and walk around him while he's eating with no problem but have never tried touching his head or putting hands near the bowl...what's the point? He is extremely gentle taking treats, just daintily nibbles. Sampson will counter surf if there is something tempting!

Sampson has a way about him that is very endearing. Sampson is a very silly, sweet and adorable rottie boy with a larger than life personality. Nothing makes Sampson happier than just being with his person whether it's laying at your feet, snuggling up for a nap or a wicked game of chasing bubbles all over the yard, Sampson just enjoys being with people as well as other animals. Sampson absolutely LOVES water in any form from a hose to a swimming pool or lake. Sampson enjoys playing in the water non stop. He has requested the minimum of a baby pool!

Sampson is non reactive to other people, animals and distractions and has a very mellow temperament that makes him an excellent companion. The right human match for Sampson will understand to remain strong and confident in a positive manner around a large dog who will take control if he feels he has to, but will act like a big puppy if he feels secure. Younger children would also not be a good match. Sampson is fostered in Lakewood OH. Contact for an application is Beth at kaya1227@comcast.net.
