Meet Jefferson! Jefferson is an affable and well-mannered young gentleman. He is a very mellow, sweet, and affectionate dog who will do well in just about any loving home enviornment.

Jefferson was brought to the Harbor Animal Shelter after being hit by a car – he suffered multiple pelvic fractures, a public fracture and a lower leg fracture. His "owners" were called as he was chipped, but they did not want him back and left him at the shelter. Jefferson sat at the shelter for months waiting for rescue. After we met him, we could not understand why no one rushed to pick up this super handsome (and hypoallergenic) pup – he's pretty darn perfect!

He needs continued "cage rest" and limited activity through July in order for his fractures to continue to heal, at which point we will take additional x-rays and he will hopefully get a good update with our orthopedic surgeon. Jefferson is well on his way to fully recovering, though he may have a little gimp still even when fully healed.
