My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Taiga needs a foster home! He is currently in boarding in Pocatello, ID. Please read about fostering HERE.

Oh my, where to begin? I decided to take a stroll away from home and was picked up by the dog police. My owners never came for me, so here I am, seeking a new family to call my own. My name is Taiga (sounds kind a like Tiger), and I am just sweet sweet sweet. My foster monitor says she could get a cavity just saying my name. I LOVE people, but am a bit too much for younger children due to my energy level. I am just a baby still, barely out of puppyhood. I am 85 lbs. of busy that will need exercise and sturdy toys to keep me occupied. I would be a great running or biking buddy, and have heard of this cool winter sport called skijoring that I am dying to try. I have had some training, including the basics of house training (which will need reinforced), and know most common commands like sit, down, and stay (loosely interpreted by wiggling in place for a split second before coming straight at you to wash your face). I am not trustworthy off leash, since my recall goes AWOL when I see something interesting. In other words, like most babies, I still need firm and gentle direction. But, I am very, very smart, and always up for an adventure or a cuddle (BONUS, I ride exceptionally well in a vehicle). Just be aware that you might see more of my belly than my back, since there is nothing better in the world than tummy rubs. I am fine with non-aggressive dogs of both sexes in a neutral environment, so a home with other dogs to play with would be fun, but I would also do great as an only pet. I just need someone to love me again and let me love them back. Will you be the one to take me home and keep me safe so the dog police don't take me away again?
