Sissy's Story...
Greetings from Sissy! I’m an eleven-year-old lady, who has been through a bit of a sad time. My 93-year-old human Mom went to that place that people call heaven. We adored each other lots and I’ll admit that she spoiled me a little. Maybe that’s why at 84.5 pounds, I’m a little on the fluffy side and could stand to lose a few pounds. Now I need to find someone who is big-hearted enough to help me learn to love again. That shouldn’t be too hard, since I love kids and other dogs. I can tolerate cats pretty well, too. I don’t like box trucks or thunderstorms. If it gets too noisy during a storm, you’ll probably find me hiding in the bathtub! Otherwise, I’m an easy-going lass and I think you’ll find it fun to spend time with me. If you like to exercise, I love to swim, so would you come and get me while there’s still a lot of summertime left?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sissy, a BIRMINGHAM Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in BIRMINGHAM, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in BIRMINGHAM.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in BIRMINGHAM already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a BIRMINGHAM breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in BIRMINGHAM paves the way for another one to be saved.
