Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! I'm Guinness!!!!!
Bet you haven't ever met a guy as handsome as me! I am a very special guy, weighing in at 65 Lbs., I'm a brindle Bullboxer/pit mix. Although the first few years of my life were not the easiest, I'm doing quite well. My Daddy says I have an excellent, happy-go-lucky personality. Originally, I lived on the streets of New York City. Unfortunately I wound up in the position of being in one of New York City's infamous kill shelters. I was rescued at the last minute, and went on to what should have been my forever home, but that didn't work out either. I became the collateral damage of a domestic violence situation where I was very reluctantly surrendered. Thank goodness I went back to rescue and not the shelter. There, I was given plenty of time to decompress from the stresses of my prior life, and had the opportunity to be retrained. Most importantly, I am being given the love I so desperately needed and time to learn a different way of life.
Daddy always tells me, "Guinness you are a sweet dog" - That's because he knows I love him, He is surely a patient caretaker who has taught me so much! My love for humans knows no bounds. Sometimes he calls me "The velcro dog"!!! Wherever my humans are, is where I want to be. Tell you a secret, I am an expert hugger, and I lavish my humans with kisses every chance I get. Don't tell though, I wouldn't want the neighbors to talk. My other hobby is getting my belly scratched, whenever possible.
Despite my love for being with "my people," I have no problem saddling up to the crate at night to sleep, or during the day when my humans must leave in order to fetch more kibble. I patiently and quietly awaiting their return. I am a sweet, obedient, protective, loyal, and eager to please fellow.
I also enjoy the company of other dogs, both male and female, when introduced carefully and slowly. (currently fostering with two other dogs) I am OK with dog-savvy cats, but will try to get them to join in with his 'boxer' play style, so caution is advised. (less patient cats need not apply!)
I am house trained, crate trained, know my commands, and I am even working on my walking skills and not getting excited at every squirrel I sees. I would really love to be a single dog, or with another dog and an owner who is willing to patiently work with me to improve my skills. Almost every night I dream of this amazing family who will love me despite my difficult past. Can you help me find my forever home?
I am neutered, up-to-date on all shots and vet care, and micro-chipped. If you would like to meet me, I've been hanging out with my foster family in Manchester New Hampshire. Please contact my rescue, I would love to meet you!
