My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Oliver! I am a big cat with a huge personality. I have been described as being "a lot like a dog." I'm not sure I'm fond of that description, but whatever gets me into a lifelong home. I am super social without an ounce of fear. I love everyone. I get along well with other cats and I really like to play. I'm adventurous, curious and outgoing. I use a litterbox like a good boy and enjoy climbing my cat tower. I came to the rescue from Hazel Park Animal Control shelter where I was turned in as a stray. I was spotted up in a tree and spent 36 hours stuck on a limb. Animal Control was called out and a neighbor assisted in getting me safely down from the tree. I was pretty grateful and happy to be rescued, but now I need a home to call my own – one where I'll live safely inside as a pet. I am a very friendly cat. I am affectionate and I like to be petted. I was also the talker of the cats at the shelter. Always the first and last to give out a Meow when I saw someone coming my way. I am such a loving, well-socialized kitty who just wants out of a cage and into a caring home. I do well with other cats and dogs. Give me a chance to be your newest family member. Adoption fee: $60 and includes deworming, vaccinations, microchip and neuter.

Paws For Life Rescue

Adoption and Foster Care Application

Adoption Process:
Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
