Hi, I‘m Remi, an eight month old black male Shar-Pei! I‘m a sweet little guy with a good temperament! I was in rough shape when I was rescued, but am doing much better. You can see that I have issues with my eyes in the photos, but I just had surgery for cherry eye and entropion and that went well. My eyes are still swollen from the surgery, but the vet says that will get better with medicine and time. We will get some new pictures when my eyes are better. I was really underweight when I came to rescue; but I have gained over 11 pounds and now weigh 40 lbs, which seems to be my ideal weight.
I am more and more affectionate every day and am super laid back and sweet! I don't seem to be bothered by loud noises, and I rarely bark. I have been 100% solid with my house training, which makes foster mommy very happy! I don't like to be crated but am a very good boy when allowed to stay out in a gated area. I have learned to sit, and I give my paw to shake.
I get along well with my foster siblings, a boxer/lab, Dallas, who is submissive, and Dawson, a Shar-Pei who I like to play and nap with. Foster Mommy thinks that I would do best in a home with other submissive (or not overly dominant) dogs. I do not guard toys or food from humans, and Foster Mommy hand feeds me often to ensure I don't start. I am gentle when taking food and treats. I have been friendly towards all people I have met, including a ten year old boy.
