My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jake is a very sweet and lovable 7 year old red/rust male doberman. Not only is he super sweet, Jake is also very handsome with nicely cropped ears and a docked tail. Check out his pictures at www.dobe.net and his video at http://youtu.be/FDgqS-3y_Iw Jake currently weighs 92 lbs but his ideal weight is about 85 lbs. Jake knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. Jake is an active boy who enjoys short runs and long walks. Hiking is a lot of fun too! He loves to play ball with you if you will throw his squeaky footballs for him. When he is in the house he is happy to chew on bully sticks or compressed rawhides or take a nap at your feet. Jake is a devoted, affectionate companion. He is well behaved in public and rides well in the car so Jake is happy to be your companion where ever you go. He is well house trained as well. Jake has never lived with other dogs but may do ok with a nice, easy going female doggie friend who will teach him how to interact with other dogs. Jake had lived with his owners kids and grandkids all his life so he is eligible to be adopted into a home with kids who are respectful of dogs. He is not good with cats. You wonder how such a great dog could end up in rescue? Jake was living a dream life as a beloved and well cared for companion when Jake’s owner suddenly passed away leaving Jake all alone. It has been a very sad time for Jake but he knows that his owner would have wanted him to love and be loved again so he is ready and willing to open his heart to a new family. Is that family you?
