My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER LOCATION: Nampa, ID

Maizey is a Papillon/Pomeranian mix, about 1 year old. She came to Fuzzy Pawz after having been found at a Gooding area truck stop. We don't know if she was abandoned or accidentally left; all we know is that no one ever came looking for her.

She is an affectionate, well cared for dog, who seems none the worse for wear after her brush with adversity. Everyone who has met her since she came to Fuzzy Pawz has fallen in love with her. She jumps in all laps and gives kisses, but will bond with her owner as the first and best lap. This is a lap dog, and she will appreciate a home with someone who appreciates this!

Maizey is a small dog, weighing in at 9.3 lbs. She looks bigger due to all her lush fur, she will need either a regular grooming appointment or she will need to be brushed frequently to keep her coat in good shape.

She gets along with other dogs, but isn't really into group play. She runs as part of the pack chasing birds and squirrels, but otherwise mostly ignores the other dogs. Maizey loves an antler chew toy, but hasn't had much to do with the other dog toys laying around. We are not sure how she is with cats, but given her behavior around other dogs, she's likely to ignore them or if they challenge her, hide behind her owner and ask to be picked up.

As gentle and affectionate as Maizey is, we expect she will be ok with children. She is a small dog with pencil legs, so very young children will need to be closely monitored so they don't hurt her.

Maizey is mostly housebroken but does need consistency to prevent occasional back sliding, uses a dog door, sleeps in her crate without complaint, and rides in the car without whining although she doesn't run out to the car to leap in. She walks on the leash, but needs more work entering a door while on leash. She comes when called in the yard, but hasn't been tested when distracted. She barks when someone comes to the house.

If you can provide Maizey with daily exercise, routine and a little bit of training, she could be a great match for you. No point in you looking any further! You can arrange to find out more about her by completing an adoption application at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/

There is an adoption fee of $150 to adopt Maizey

Maizey, microchipped, spayed and current on her vaccinations.
