Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This little one is simply puppy perfection!!! Colton is a very special puppy who is on Long Island and looking for his forever home. He is a super adorable 16 week old basset mix who weighs about 24 lbs.
Colton might be a little guy, but he has a big personality...his foster mom just raves about him! She says he is incredibly sweet and friendly with everyone he meets...including other dogs and children. Even though he's a small guy, he LOVES to run and play with his foster mom's bigger dog. He follows his foster mom everywhere, and he loves to be held and cover her face with puppy kisses. She says he is also a pretty mellow guy who is content to lie around watching her when he is done playing. He's not the kind of puppy who is dying to go running or walking on a leash....he is more content to relax and hang out. We really can't say enough great things about him!
When the rest of his litter was saved from a South Carolina shelter, another rescue left him behind because there is a possibility that he may require surgery on his back legs sometime in the future. Gimme Shelter couldn’t leave this sweet little cutie down south, so we stepped in to bring him to NY.
He has been seen by our NY veterinarian, who says Colton's back legs are slightly curved by the knees. There is no way to tell if her will require future treatment until he is about a year old, and there is a chance his legs may correct themselves by the time he is a year old.
Amazingly, all future medical treatment Colton may require for his legs is FULLY FUNDED by a generous GSAR supporter...all he needs is a forever home! His forever family will have all costs for his legs, if needed, taken care of by our supporter.
Colton is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting this very special little puppy, please fill out an application at:
