My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tyson is a 6 month old, energetic, curious, and fun-loving puppy. He is affectionate and loves cuddles. He loves being with his family members and helping out on daily tasks, however he is wonderful at keeping himself occupied and amused with toys and naps. Tyson has done well staying at home alone during the work day when necessary, and does not have accidents in the house. He welcomes you home with kisses and a wagging tail. Tyson enjoys physical activity, including hikes on trails, multiple daily walks and playing in water. One of Tyson's favourite times of the day are meal times. He shows his excitement with a dancing, prancing run to where his food bowl will be filled.

Here is what else Tyson's foster family had to say:

(Note: Tyson had been adopted just a short time ago but through an unexpected issue his new family were unable to continue caring for him so he is once again looking to find his forever home.)

Tyson has been social and friendly with adults and children that he meets. He seems to think that everyone is his long lost best friend and becomes extremely excited when he gets to say hello. Tyson has not shown any aggression towards other people or animals. He does not seem to show any shyness with people, including strangers who come to the house. Tyson does not have any other pet friends currently in his foster home, however he is very friendly when meeting dogs on walks and when he has playdates with his next-door neighbour dog friends in the backyard. Tyson has not had any direct contact with cats, and does not seem to mind when he sees them at a distance on walks.

Tyson will cry for a few minutes when his foster family leaves the house, but he quiets down quickly and can entertain himself for many hours with a bone, a stuffy and his bed. He does not show fear of anything in particular. Tyson has been great when exposed to the vacuum, traffic, hairdryers, thunder and lightning and the sounds of fireworks. Tyson loves to cuddle, play fetch, tug-of-war, run, chase his tail and sniff everything. Tyson also has found a new love of splashing around and swimming in water. Tyson has barely barked and is a quiet dog in the home.

Tyson is eager to please and is picking up on commands and demands of his foster home fairly quickly. He knows sit and down, and is learning off, leave it, drop it, stay and come. He is fully house trained although he has not yet learned to ask to go outside so we have learned his cues and pay attention to when he heads towards the door. He can hold his bladder and bowels for an entire work day. He is leashed trained and will show you a happily wagging tail when you pick up his leash to bring him on a walk. Tyson certainly shows interest when it is mealtime for the humans, however he will lay down when he is told and is quick to understand that this food is not for him. Tyson is not crate trained, however has not taken too long to relax the few times that he has had to be crated overnight. When crated at night, Tyson cries for about 10 minutes before settling to sleep.

Tyson has the ability to warm the hearts of everyone he meets. He would do well in a house, with a family who can give him lots of love, affection, attention and time. Tyson would probably be thrilled to have children and fellow animal family members. Tyson is an energetic and growing boy, so extremely small houses/yards are not ideal. Tyson does well with stairs and hardwood/slippery floors. He has also learned that house plants, furniture and garden plants are not food. Tyson's forever parents should be patient and warm but need to be willing to keep working on obedience and skill mastering to come. Tyson is a puppy who is truly happy and eager to please his family. Tyson is a fast learner and learns to associate praise and treats with good behaviour. It will not be difficult to have him achieve a high level of training/obedience.

If you think Tyson would be a good choice for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
