My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTED 9-25-14; unavailable. Original bio below:

Jack is one awesome dog! He's a Yorkie-Coton de Tulear mix male, about 5 years old and 14 lbs . He's a fabulous little guy with a charming personality and excellent temperament. Jack got the best of his two breeds. He's very friendly, gentle, affectionate, alert, devoted, happy, smart and sweet. Both breeds are very sociable and playful. They're also very attached to their home and master, wanting always to be in their presence and trying its best to please. Full of tricks and surprises to fulfill his master's every wish. One of the Coton's most endearing traits is a tendency to jump and walk on their hind legs. Their teasing expressions enhance any home willing to spend time daily in the necessary play and grooming routines. Jack is hypo-allergenic and doesn't shed. His hair is silky; it needs a daily brushing (5 mins when done daily) and needs to be professionally groomed every 4-6 weeks. These breeds learn quite quickly, but can be a little bit stubborn without the proper leadership. They're intelligent and eager to work. Jack is an easy-going dog who gets along well with children, other small dogs and cats. He's a great watchdog and barks to alert or protect; no unnecessary or excessive barking. His foster parents and everyone who has spent time with Jack all say the same thing...he's the perfect, wonderful little dog!

Jack loves to sit in your lap and hang out with you. He's a terrific companion and is a great choice for either all adults or families with older children (9 years and up who have small dog experience and know how to properly treat them). Jack is neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and groomed. He's just had a vet exam and a dental done by our vet. He's 100% potty trained to go outside while walking in harness and leash. His best match home is where someone is there all or most of the time...or where he can go to work with you. Jack wants to be the #1 pet in the home so having another small K9 friend close to his age and size isn't needed. Other pets have to be easy-going and accepting of another dog being higher in pack status. He wants to get most of your love & attention, so a couple or family is best for him. Adult female humans are his very favorite. Jack's new owner(s) need to be strong, confident, consistent pack leaders to prevent Small Dog Syndrome, human induced behavior problems. Smart dogs require savy pack leaders or they'll take over that role. Always remember, dogs are canines, not humans. We need to meet their natural instincts as animals.

Thank you for choosing to adopt & save the life of a homeless dog!
