My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are seeing this dog on this site she is available so there is no need to email us checking for availability. Consequently we will not respond to emails asking if the dog is available. Instructions for meeting this dog are provided below.

Meet Liberty, an adorable, very sweet girl puppy who was born on April 2, 2014. As of July 12th she was 19 pounds. Liberty was born in a shelter in Joplin, Missouri and came to Angels on Wheels with her 4 litter mates. Mom, Maria who is also in our rescue, is underweight at 50 pounds, so we think the pups will grow to be large dogs. Liberty is being fostered with her brother Patriot in a South Naperville home around other dogs and children and is great with both. Liberty came to us on the quiet side but is opening up nicely. She now loves to retrieve a ball with a high return rate, bounce around the yard, and wrestle with other dogs. She has learned to sit, and looks at the sink when she wants water. So smart! She gets excited to play, to chew on a rawhide, to romp around outside, and to curl up in the blue chair you see in her posted photo. She will need more time to learn how to walk more than a few driveways away on a leash and to ask to go out as she is not house trained yet, but within a weeks time Liberty has improved a lot in both skills. Liberty is also sleeping through the night in her crate. You will fall in love with Liberty if you decide she is the one you want to meet!

These pups are going to be on the large side. We do not feel an apartment or condo living is a suitable home for them given they will need a yard to run in to keep fit and healthy. Please note: If you are gone all day, a puppy is not the right match for you.

If you think this pup would fit perfectly into your family, please fill out our Adoption application which can be found on our website at www.angelsonwheels.org. An approved adoption application is required prior to making an appointment for a meet and greet. We do not have a physical building for you to visit thus the reason an application is required prior to making an appointment. Thank you for your understanding and patience!

The adoption fee of $300.00 includes: The neutering/spaying, microchip, up-to-date on routine vaccination for distemper-adenovirus-parainfluenze-parvo, rabies vaccinated if over 4 months, dewormed with panacur, treated with revolution and front line plus, leash and collar, and any other medical needs.

You will also receive a free office visit to one of our participating vets for a free health exam.

Thank you for looking at our rescued animals!
