My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poor Kota was found wandering the streets of North Carolina. We believe that he was once someone's pet, however we do not believe he received the best treatment. Kota came into the shelter with heartworm , demodex mange, and sarcoptic mange. He was extremely itchy to the point he could not think about anything else. He would rub his head on the ground as he walked to relive the itch.

He has since undergone heartworm treatment as well as treatment for his mange with great success. He tolerates his dog friends, but adores all people (big and small) Kota seems to be house trained, and does very well in the crate. He has hardly barked since he has been with us. As far as energy level he is very low key. He would probably enjoy walks once he got use to the leash.

if you are looking for a low key companion dog Kota is your guy. He loves people, but he is not so use to receiving affection so he tenses up when he is pet or picked up like he thinks he is going to be hit. Once you pet him for a little while though he starts to wag his tail, and in less then 24 hours he will be following his people all over the house. Kota is a very low maintenance dog looking for his forever home.
