THIS IS DEACON JONES....and the only resemblence he has to the famous football player is he definitely was a 'defensive lineman' when he arrived at Lhasa Happy Homes. This little 13 lb, cream colored, 1.5 yr old, Teripoo was not just terrified when he arrived, but shut down, almost feral. From the shape of his skin and coat, he obviously spent his life outside. He didn't want to come out of the bushes for two days. He loved other dogs and related to them, but didn't know kindness or the human touch. The leash seemed to be a weapon and humans were like the enermy. Not anymore!! He is now running up and down the stairs, giving kisses (a few at a time), cuddling, albeit reluctantly until he "releases" -- he is happy to see his foster mom when she comes in and he is blossoming one moment at a time. It is such an amazing feeling to see his social skills coming out, knowing that he wants to trust but still needs time and patience. There is nothing better than getting his kisses!! He has come so far, but he will need a home where there is at least one, active dog and a family who will play with him and give him tons of love and attention. Deacon is a love...does not have an aggressive bone in his body -- even when he was scared, he never attempted to bite. And...he is very smart and believe it or not, seems to be potty trained!! He is extremely submissive and his big brown eyes will tell you "all I need is love, love, love." And he will give it back 100x over.

UPDATE!!!! Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events most every Sunday at ROVER KENNELS on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Rover is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets.
Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!
