Oscar's Story...

Oscar has been in his home for 11 years and is a really nice dog! He is well-trained, can be walked off-leash, is a friendly, quiet, well-behaved older gentleman but is still "active"! His family's son came home from the military with another dog and we guess Oscar is not too happy about having his home invaded so they have asked for our help!
We have mixed emotions and have advised it's more fair for them to keep him, and make alternative arrangements for the other dog but we're not sure what's going to happen so we thought to at least post him and see what might come up for him!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar, a Berkeley Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chesapeake Bay Retriever for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chesapeake Bay Retriever breeders who help with Chesapeake Bay Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
