Duffy is a shih tzu boy who was rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri where he spent 8 years living in a cage. He was born on Feb 01, 2006. He is a mellow, quite boy who does fine with other dogs. He can be shy around people he doesn't know but once he warms up to you, he loves to be by your side. He will do best in a home with a fenced in yard and another small dog as a companion. Generally we require a fenced in yard and another small dog for our puppy mill rescues (we don't require this for all of our dogs).
If you are interested in meeting this dog, please fill out our adoption application which you can find on our website at www.dutchcountryanimalrescue.org/adopt.html
All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped.
We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Our adoption fee is on our application. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs.
We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.
