A common misconception among dog owners too cowardly to bring an unwanted dog to the shelter is they believe if they cast them to the streets dog lovers will be right there to pick them up. This is seldom the case. More often than not dogs are left to starve as they wander the streets looking for food, shelter and companionship. Such was the case with Bentley, whose foster parents found him on the 4th of July while driving through an affluent neighborhood by UCLA. Bentley, who was very skinny and had back sores from chewing away at his flea allergy, wagged his tail as he jumped into the back seat of the car. He received immediate grooming, treatment for fleas, vaccinations and an all you can eat buffet that helped get his weight back. He is staying with his foster family and four other dogs while waiting for a forever parent to adopt him.
Bentley is a wonderful dog 2 year old Chocolate Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier mix. He loves people and is a good family dog. He has a lot of charisma, is very affectionate and is super intelligent. He has good energy and loves to play (fetches too). Bentley gets along with the other dogs but prefers to be with just one or two at a time. He is good on a leash, good with strangers. He is good with all people, and playful from the beginning. He is crate-trained. If you are interested in learning more about Bentley, please contact Marc at (310) 273-9252 or e-mail: northbeverly@aol.com
