Portia's Story...
Name: Portia
Color: Black and White
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Gender: Female
Age: 3 Months
Portia is a sweet, shy kitten who came in with her siblings and they are all looking for loving forever homes.
Big fan of: Lots of toys and regular playtime is a must for kittens. This will keep her happy, healthy and keep her mind well stimulated. A cat tree and good scratching post is also a must so she has something appropriate to stretch out and scratch on.
Dream Home: Portia would love to go home with one of her brothers but a male feline that already lives in the home would be fine by her. Portia could possibly live with a very cat-savvy dog who has plenty of experience with cats and won't chase after and scare her. Portia could live with respectful children over 12 who will understand her shy nature and be patient while she warms up to them.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Portia, a Bellingham Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
