My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pearl was picked up as a stray & brought to a high kill shelter where the only way out alive is if a rescue group takes them. I have kept the name the shelter gave her to keep a proper paper trail on her. She is a smart girl & will respond well to a name change. Pearl knows certain phrases and listens to instructions well. She is creamy-white, about 14 pounds & estimated to be 2-3 years old. When she lays her ears back, she looks like a baby seal with her big, warm eyes. Sometimes she looks like Yoda when she is concerned about something & lays her ears to the side. She has a tiny sprig of hair on top of her head that when pulled up, makes her look like a Teletubby. .She loves being in a home environment & tries her best to beat any other dogs to the sofa if she thinks I may sit down. She loves to cuddle & be your constant shadow. When you talk to her, she gets so happy, her whole back ends wags & her tail hits her sides. She has shown no destructive behavior other than chewing on her blankie. This is a sign of being taken away from her mother too soon, so I keep a rope toy or a Dino Chew available while she is in my lap. She is learning to "sit pretty" & jumps on a barstool to watch what you are doing or to get attention. She stands up, puts her front paws together & waves when the treats come out. She is UTD on vaccinations & microchipped. She has been treated for heartworms and has done very well with the treatment. Her quiet period is over & she is anxious to go to her furever home. Pearl is very lively, playful, and can't wait to go to her furever home! She is being fostered north of Hammond by Cheryl. She may be contacted directly @ miacrh@bellsouth.net.
