This is Hooch. It may not be the ideal name for him but that is what he went in to the shelter with. Apparently he was given to a family when he was a baby and they turned him into the kill shelter because they couldn't afford him any longer. HOOCH was at a kill shelter for 2.5 months. We can’t believe he was there so long. He is the friendliest, most beautiful boy! Hooch has a playful, energetic personality and would make a lucky family a wonderful pet/companion.
If you would like to adopt Hooch, please contact Michele at doubledogmjordan@gmail.com
Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
