My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poochie is sweet, sweet, sweet. After living 15 years with the rural family that had adopted him as a young pup, financial constraints forced his humans to make a difficult decision to surrender him. He's a Bichon Frise and, like most Bichons, he's just an affectionate, curly, white Teddy bear at heart. He is always happy to see you and you won't find a more loyal companion. He will sit on your lap, lay next to you while you read or watch TV, or rest on the floor at your feet. He often naps on the kitchen mat while his foster mom works at the counter. Poochie weighs 13 pounds. He's house trained and sleeps through the night on his foster mom's bed. He doesn't bark but will whine to let you know when he needs to go out. He is friendly with everyone and gets along with other dogs and cats. He easily rolls over for belly rubs, walks on leash, and rides well in a vehicle. He has some hearing & vision loss and only 3 teeth, which doesn't impair his ability to eat dry kibble. Despite his age, Poochie adjusted seamlessly to his foster home, where he lives with several small dogs and a human companion. He doesn't play with other animals or with people but he enjoys their company. Poochie is neutered, current on his vaccinations, on monthly preventatives for fleas/ticks and heartworm, and heartworm negative. He has chronic dry eye and does well on Tacrolimus prescription eye drops twice a day ($40 for an approx. 3-month mail order supply). Won't you open your home and heart to this good ol' boy?
