Meet Butler! This boy is as regal as his name. You cannot get a more beautiful mixed breed dog than Butler! He has the coloring or a Chocolate Lab and the gorgeous fur of a Golden Retriever. His chocolate fur is actually swirled with different highlights of browns and reds. He's very soft to pet and knows it! He will ham it up all day long to be near a human. This boy loves attention and will make a great cuddler. He has never been introduced to toys so he doesn't know what to do with them. Over time, I'm sure he will engage with them since they haven't been part of his life. When you walk this boy in your neighborhood, you will be sure to get compliments and questions about his breed. He is a one-of-a-kind!

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
