Look at that adorable face! Little Neesa has no idea where she is or how she got there. She was surrendered by her family because "they work too much". She is a cute little fluffer-nutter. She is very much a velcro dog and wants to be close to a human she trusts. Sadly the people she trusted dropped her off at a shelter to be killed or adopted. It's important to us that she knows she will be going to her forever home, where she will be safe and loved. Neesa has engaged with squeaky toys and shows her personality when playing with them. She will even run after a ball. When in her shelter cell, she will stand at the front of her cage with pleading eyes to get out safely. She is truly a gem.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:
Thorough veterinary examination
All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming
Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.
If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)
NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
